Clinched the SIA flight steward job. Gonna start training next Thrusday. Besides that , things have grown much clearer in the course of the past week. Seems like things are looking up ... I guess now only time will tell. Anyways , the concerns are appreciated. Thanks !
Despite being my 2nd attempt @ competitive sparring , this time round I was able to read the game far better than IVP . I felt stronger , more composed & confident. But probably too confident to the extent that I was careless fighting at the semis and YES .... settling for yet another Bronze. Blew my chances of making it to the finals. Swell ...
Nevertheless , it was an experience worth living for. I've neva taken part in any competition on a national level. You know the scenario where by day you're just a normal white collar worker & by night you become something extraordinary ? Its feels something like that.
Out of our mundane lives , these are the things that actually make me feel alive & fired up. I feel it differentiates the driven from the tom & dicks on the streets who just wanna live their lives laid back & without meaning. Hence my love & passion for the martial arts.
But I think the greatest pay off was whenever the referee announces my win and the crowd goes wild by the stands .... it just liberates me.
Geared up & ready for my 1st bout

Coach's pride ...
After the 6th tournament , Rena finally got her Gold medal. Told you you could do it. Proud of you babe !

Its been a crazy period ever since I started sending out my resumes. Got called up for a couple of interviews , however , none were really what I had expected. Perhaps I've been too choosy. Nevertheless , its all good. These interviews have served to be a good test of my reaction & "acting" skills. Hahaha ... splendid training. I pretty much owned most of them & the interviewers all seemed to like me pretty much. (But I didn't bother to call back to give my confirmation.)
Anyway , I shall still remain humble & maintain my composure. The tough ones have yet to come. Today I tried for the SIA Steward post. Although I managed to breeze through the 1st 2 interviews but with 3 left , I'm only 2 fifth my way into the skies. At the SIA interview , it really seemed like a scene out of Singapore Idol audition (or American Idol for that matter). While the Idol wannabes got a yellow note of acknowledgement , we too got a letter of approval to proceed on to the 3rd Stage.
Talking about Singapore Idol , I really think this Hady Mirza's the only one left thats talented enough to win the competition. His sleek performances and vocal quality kinda resemble Craig David. Anyways , Good Luck my man !
I sure hope all these "interview trainings" have raised my stress threshold because .... TOMORROW'S THE BIG DAY ! The time has finally come. My Super Bowl ... the Taekwondo Nationals. Below's my bout list. Wish me luck !
